WILMINGTON, Del., July 22 (UPI) -- A Delaware man's "NOTAG" vanity license plate prompted a government computer to send him hundreds of violation notices.

The Delaware News Journal reported Thursday Jim Cara's new tag arrived Saturday and with it an avalanche of Wilmington parking violations.

"All the traffic tickets say, 'Notice of violation. License number: no tag,'" Cara said.

City computers talking to Division of Motor Vehicles computers finally found a place to send ticketed vehicles that lacked license tags, officials said. The postal carrier came twice on Saturday.

Cara, who works for the American Motorcycle Association and wanted the plate for his Suzuki motorcycle, described himself as a lifelong prankster.

However, he said, his pranks may have finally caught up with him.
