MOSCOW, July 21 (UPI) -- A Russian businessman has filed assault charges against three allegedly drunken flight attendants he says beat him up while drunk, the Moscow Times reports.

The scuffle broke out during a four-hour Aeroflot flight from Moscow to the Siberian town of Nizhnevartovsk.

Aeroflot spokeswoman Irina Dannenberg said the problems started when one of the passengers, Artyom Chernopup, who was flying in economy class with his girlfriend, asked the flight attendants to bring her some more wine.

"The attendants refused, claiming that they had already run out," Dannenberg said.

Angered, Chernopup walked back to the galley and began pouring wine himself when the three male attendants began beating him.

Meanwhile, the fourth attendant, a woman, was busy serving the business-class passengers.

When the flight landed, Chernopup had a black eye and was whisked away for medical attention.

Doctors also checked the attendants and confirmed there were "clear signs of inebriation," an airport police spokesman said.
