NEW YORK, July 16 (UPI) -- St. Martha is the patron saint of cooks and servants, said savemartha.com, created when Martha Stewart was first investigated for lying about a stock sale.

She is the patron saint of butlers, cooks, dietitians, domestic servants, homemakers, hotel-keepers, housemaids, housewives, innkeepers, laundry workers, maids, manservants, servants, servers, single laywomen, and travelers, it says.

"Martha is also known as the Wonder Worker of Southern Gaul," the saint's profile says. "Sister of Saints Lazarus and Mary of Bethany. Friend of Jesus, hostess to him in her house."

"At 10 a.m. EST, pray for Martha," the site, maintained by John Small of New York, said Friday in light of her sentencing scheduled for that time.

On Friday, Stewart was sentenced to five months in prison, five months house arrest and two years supervised probation after being convicted of lying to prosecutors about a stock sale in 2001.
