MELBOURNE, June 29 (UPI) -- A contestant on Australian TV's "The Price is Right" got a nasty gash on the head from the showcase wheel.

When "Dean from Melbourne" gave the showcase wheel a whirl, the handle flipped back and knocked him square on the head, The Daily Telegraph reported Tuesday.

"(Host) Larry (Emdur) said to give the wheel a big spin and as I did the handle cracked me on the head," Dean told Brisbane's 4BC radio. "The wheel was heavy. It had concrete in it, I reckon."

Dean pressed on with the game until Emdur noticed blood on his face.

"I was seeing stars for a while," he said. "They took me out the back and tried to control the bleeding until the ambulance came and my wife finished playing for me."

The incident was edited from the tape, which airs Friday, the Daily Telegraph said. People who want to know how Dean's wife did in his sted, will have to tune into the show. As for Dean, he received five stitches.
