LONDON, June 10 (UPI) -- Scotland Yard opened an investigation Thursday after a man found his dismembered daughter-in-law in his son's refrigerator, The Telegraph said.

Police were trying to determine the whereabouts of Paul Dalton, 34, who married Tae Hui Kang seven years ago. Neighbors said they hadn't seen Dalton for days, and assumed his wife had returned to Korea for a visit.

A spokesman at Scotland Yard said Dalton's car was later found abandoned about five miles away.

"All the body parts had been carefully put in plastic bags and then stacked in the fridge," the spokesman said.

Dalton's father said the couple's 6-year-old daughter was away for school holidays although detectives were attempting to verify her location.

An autopsy was scheduled.
