Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe HAMBURG, Germany, June 9 (UPI) -- A German woman escaped injury Wednesday when a flying portable toilet crashed into her car during a Hamburg storm, police said. Police said the toilet caused approximately 5,000 euros ($6,134)in damage to the front of the woman's Audi, but did not hurt her. Advertisement The toilet had been placed on the sidewalk, but was picked up by a gust of wind and flew into traffic. Hamburg has been rocked by massive thunderstorms, which interrupted train travel, caused numerous traffic accidents and prompted emergency responders to declare a standing alarm. Lightning strikes started several fires. High winds and heavy rains caused further damage. Authorities estimate the total cost of the storms will run into millions of euros.
