WESTLAKE, Ohio, June 1 (UPI) -- The last thing the police chief of Westlake, Ohio, expected after a hard workout was to find a man breaking into his locker.

But that's what happened Sunday to Chief Richard Walling at Bally's health club, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Tuesday.

Upon finishing his workout, Walling found Michael Kelley standing in front of his open locker with the padlock broken off. After he announced he was the chief of police, Kelly produced a fake I.D. and ran out of the locker room, fleeing in a pickup truck.

Walling followed in a police cruiser and notified other officers, who helped pick up the pursuit.

Kelly was finally arrested after pulling into a driveway and was to be arraigned Tuesday on several charges, including breaking and entering, attempted theft, resisting arrest and identity fraud.
