MOST BRITONS HAVE SEX IN PUBLIC PLACES

The annual sex poll of 25,000 adults in the United Kingdom by men's magazine FHM finds 60 percent admit to having sex in a public place.

"The idea of getting caught out has always been in the fantasy books," says sex therapist Denise Knowles, commenting about sex in public spaces. "People are all looking for that buzz and adrenaline in all aspects of their lives."

In addition, 56 percent of British adults admit to having been unfaithful in a relationship, reports Sky News.

"It's obvious that unfaithful behavior has increased greatly over the years," Knowles says. "There is more and more opportunity for affairs, with people going out more, and women going out to work."

NAKED GNOMES OFFENSIVE

Some think a former British Army sergeant's garden gnomes in Yorkshire, England, should wear some clothes.

Police have told Tony Watson that he could be arrested for indecency under the Public Order Offences Act and the 2-feet-tall garden ornaments confiscated unless he removed them or dressed them more conservatively, the BBC reports.

Watson's gnome collection includes a male gnome going to the bathroom in a bucket, a male flasher, another male gnome mooning, a female gnome fully exposed and another female gnome with her breasts revealed.

To avoid jail, Watson has painted bikinis on the female gnomes and underpants on the male gnomes.

HALLOWEEN COMES EARLY TO ENGLAND

Police in Bournemouth, England, plan to distribute 12,000 bags of candy bars as they leave some of the town's busiest bars on weekends.

Halloween hasn't come early -- the police say most drunken brawls occur on weekends in lines for take out food and they hope the chocolate will soothe the savage beast.

The Daily Telegraph reports Bournemouth attracts some 80,000 drinkers on a busy weekend.

"The reason for most alcohol-related violence is because people get frustrated, then aggressive waiting for either food or a taxi," says Ian Curtis, of the Dorset Police Department.

"By giving them some food as they leave bars and clubs we hope to distract people from causing trouble by fulfilling one of their main needs -- something to eat."

NEW CAR SMELL EXTENDED

It's one of the aspects that many people like about a new car -- that new car smell.

It never lasts, though, so luxury carmakers are working to make the new car smell last longer.

The new car smell actually comes from the adhesives and sealers that hold all the fabric, plastic and other materials together in the car, according to General Motors.

Cadillac has done tests to give their cars a unique smell -- they had Cadillac customers determine the best new car smell from several vehicles.

To ensure scent consistency, Cadillac uses special leather that takes up to 22 days to process and requires more than 100 hundred ingredients.
