PEOPLE CHOOSE MONEY OVER SEX

Given the choice, those in the United States would have money over sex.

A poll commissioned by Robert Kiyosaki, author of the "Rich Dad Poor Dad" series of financial guides, finds that two-thirds of people went for treasure, not pleasure, the New York Post reports.

"People are just eat, drink and be merry -- and pretend we don't have a problem in the future," says Kiyosaki. "Americans need to wake up -- safe, secure jobs are about as common as Indian-head nickels."

The survey also finds about 40 percent admit that if they became unemployed they would run out of money in three months, while 66 percent say they would run out of cash in a year.

ELVIS' ANCESTOR HAS LEFT THE COUNTRY

There was much excitement when the small Scottish town of Lonmay learned a Scottish writer had traced it to an Elvis Presley ancestor.

With 1 million people visiting Graceland in Tennessee, perhaps the seven-room bed-and-breakfast in Lonmay might change its name to "Heartbreak Hotel" and build a few more rooms, villagers speculated, hoping that some might want to see where Andrew Presley lived in 1713.

However, the happy thoughts were dashed within 24 hours, after Elvis Presley Enterprises issued a reminder that it owns all the intellectual property rights.

That includes the King's name, his image and his songs, including the very words Heartbreak Hotel, reports the Web site Scotsman.com.

HOUSE THAT PORN BOUGHT FOR SALE

A 10 bedroom house with a river view, built for the Asters in Hyde Park, N.Y., and later sold to Penthouse owner Bob Guccione is up for sale.

Despite the $7 million asking price, the mansion needs some work. The New York Daily News reports weeds have overtaken the garden, paint is peeling and windows are broken.

The News got an exclusive tour and reports inside it's a tasteful gentlemen's country house, filled with antiques, books and family photos -- but no heart-shaped Jacuzzi.

Guccione, who once made $500 million for selling porn before the age of the Internet, is selling the house because he is facing bankruptcy.

ALCOHOL AND SEX HARASSMENT LINKED

While the new economy and the U.S. federal tax code has done away the three-martini lunch, a study links alcohol and sexual harassment.

The Cornell University study finds an extra beer or glass of wine during a workday lunch or happy hour may seem harmless but could result in a costly sexual harassment lawsuit.

The study finds women were at greater risk of gender harassment when they worked in places where heavy drinking, particularly on the part of their male colleagues, was tolerated.

Specifically, the study finds a more than twofold increase in the incidence of gender harassment experienced by women for every additional alcoholic drink consumed by the men in their work units during or around working hours.
