Repo forces deadline on Penthouse founder

NEW YORK, March 29 (UPI) -- The founder of Penthouse magazine has three days to clear his belongings from a repossessed New York estate where his wife of 32 years lies buried.

A lender has given Bob Guccione, 73, until Wednesday to get his personal things out of the 10-bedroom Duchess County mansion where he and his wife, Kathy Keeton, lived until her death in 1997, the New York Daily News reported Monday.

Keeton died of cancer and is buried out back by the pool of the 63-acre estate. Guccione has been too grieved or distracted -- or both -- to pack up her belongings, the newspaper said. Keeton's gowns still hang in her closets; her lotions still sit on a dressing table.

The lender, Kennedy Funding, wants to start showing the 7,000-square-foot, $7 million mansion Wednesday.

When Internet porn eroded Penthouse's profits, publisher General Media Inc. went bankrupt. Then, last month, it gave the property to Kennedy Funding, which was owed $17 million by Guccione. The Daily News said Guccione is scrambling to come up with enough money to reclaim the estate.
