NEVADA, Iowa, March 9 (UPI) -- After an eight-month legal battle with city hall, a Nevada, Iowa, woman has moved her miniature horse from her back yard to a boarding facility.

Rhonda Appelgate, the owner of Putt-Putt, hs been fighting a city ordinance banning horses, cattle and hogs. She plans to challenge Nevada city officials again during the next city council meeting, reported the Des Moines (Iowa) Register.

"I'm very mad," Applegate said. "I've come this far and I won't stop now."

Judge Steven Van Marel initially ordered Appelgate to remove Putt-Putt nearly a month ago or face contempt-of-court charges, but he gave her an extension to find a facility for the 30-inch tall horse.
