Princess Anne's dog bites again

LONDON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Days after fatally mauling one of Queen Elizabeth's prized corgis, Princess Anne's bull terrier Florence has attacked one of the queen's maids.

Buckingham Palace last night confirmed Florence attacked the woman at Sandringham on Saturday, biting her on the knee, the Scotsman reported Wednesday.

The maid was treated at the palace by a doctor who had been called by the princess after she was informed about the attack. A spokeswoman said: "There was an incident at Sandringham on Saturday when a member of staff was bitten on the knee, or knee area, by Florence."

The palace said the animal would now undergo behavioral retraining, but refused to comment on whether it would have to be put down.

Last week, Florence so badly mauled Pharos, one of the queen's best-loved corgis, that it had to be put down.

One of Princess Anne's other bull terriers, Dotty, had originally been blamed for the corgi attack, but was formally cleared by the palace Tuesday, the newspaper said.
