Kennedy dainties go on the block

NEW YORK, July 14 (UPI) -- An intimate collection of personal items once owned by John F. Kennedy and the first lady will be auctioned off Saturday.

They include Jackie's lingerie, dresses, skirts, bathing suits, gloves and toiletries. And if that's not personal enough, her pantyhose also are up for bid, the New York Post reported.

Among JFK's artifacts are his white World War II Navy-issue boxers, with a "Jack Kennedy" label sewn in, as well as two pairs of his pajama bottoms.

The 331 items are being sold by Jackie's private secretary, Mary Gallagher, and Providencia Paredes, the former first lady's personal attendant.

"It is all being conducted very tastefully," Paula Hantman, owner of Hantman's Auctioneers and Appraisers of Potomac, Md., told The Post.

The artifact expected to bring in the biggest haul is JFK's "little black book."

It doesn't contain the names of his conquests, but rather is a journal he used to jot down speech ideas and political concerns.
