MUSIC AND MORE JEFF BATES DEBUT CD OUT TODAY Newcomer Jeff Bates plans a string of appearances to promote his debut album "Rainbow Man," which hits retail shelves Tuesday. Before heading to Las Vegas for Wednesday's ACM awards and to open for Brooks & Dunn May 25, Bates will appear at an Atlanta-area Wal-Mart and sit for radio and television interviews. His debut single, "The Love Song" currently is No. 16 on the R&R and Billboard country singles charts. 'IDOL' FINALIST ADDED TO CMT BEST SONG CONCERT Kimberly Locke, a finalist on Fox Broadcasting's "American Idol" talent show, has been booked to sing at CMT's 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music concert in Nashville on June 4, the network says. Advertisement Chris Cagle and Hank Williams Jr. also have been added to the show featuring artists performing the Top 12 songs in the countdown, which debuts on CMT June 8. CHICKS TO PERFORM FOR ACM AWARDS VIA SATELLITE The Dixie Chicks will be presented via satellite while in concert from their hometown of Austin, Texas, as part of Wednesday's Academy of Country Music awards show. The trio -- nominated for ACM's entertainer, album and vocal group of the year -- will play "Truth No. 2," the ACM said on its Web site, acmcountry.com. Trace Adkins, Bill Engvall, Cledus T. Judd, Louise Mandrell, Pam Tillis and Mark Wills were added as presenters in the show to be nationally televised on CBS.
