WHEEL'S BENSON ALBUM OUT JUNE 24
Audium Records plans a June 24 release of "Beyond Time," the solo debut album from multi-Grammy-winning Asleep at the Wheel leader Ray Benson, the label says in a news release.
The collection features guest shots by Dolly Parton, Delbert McClinton, Jimmie Vaughan, Stanley Jordan, Flaco Jimenez and others.
Benson wrote most of the songs on the album, including "Isn't It Strange" from 1978 and "Let's Get Lost," co-authored with Willie Nelson last year.
JUNE CARTER CASH IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Singer-songwriter June Carter Cash on Monday still was in critical condition at Baptist Hospital in Nashville with complications from heart surgery, CMT.com reports.
Cash, 73, underwent heart valve replacement surgery Wednesday at Baptist, where her husband, Johnny Cash, was hospitalized for three weeks in March for treatment of pneumonia.
