MUSIC AND MORE SKAGGS' 'LIVE' ALBUM IN STORES THIS WEEK Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder's "Live At The Charleston Music Hall" is to be released Tuesday on his own label, Skaggs Family Records. Unlike most concert albums, fewer than half of the tracks on Skaggs' latest are among his past recorded selections -- including bluegrass versions of Bill Monroe's "Uncle Pen" and Harry Chapin's "Cat's In The Cradle." Skaggs will kick off his U.S. tour to promote the album with appearances on network TV, National Public Radio and the Grand Ole Opry. TWO MORE CUT FROM 'NASHVILLE STAR' Ten country music hopefuls remain in "Nashville Star," USA Network's talent search series after weekend vote-offs by the judges and fans in the show's third of nine weekly episodes. After getting the bad news from judges Charlie Robison, Tracy Gershon and Robert Oermann, Valentine was hugged by the other performers vying for the grand prize of a recording contract with Sony Nashville. SARA EVANS WEIGHS IN ON WAR DEBATE Country artist Sara Evans is disappointed in Dixie Chick Natalie Maines' decision to speak out against President Bush. "It's disheartening to me to hear negativity about our president during this highly critical time, and it is especially disheartening to hear comments made outside the United States," Evans tells Glamour magazine. Maines came under fire after she said during a concert in London that she's "ashamed" that Bush is from the trio's home state of Texas. Maines has since apologized. "Republican or Democrat, we have an immediate duty as Americans to rally around our president and troops," Evans said in an upcoming Glamour article about the war in Iraq.
