Chris Cooper wins Supporting Actor Oscar

LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) -- Chris Cooper won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in Los Angeles Sunday for his performance as orchid thief-lover John Laroche in "Adaptation." It was Cooper's first Oscar and first nomination.
