HONORS FOR SCHWARZENEGGER

Hollywood publicists will honor action star Arnold Schwarzenegger with a lifetime achievement award at the ICG 40th Annual Publicists Awards on March 19.

Awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger said the star of "Terminator" and "True Lies" is being recognized for using his celebrity to call attention to a wide variety of humanitarian causes, particularly those involving children.

"Arnold continues to be the driving force behind many of the industry's biggest blockbusters," said Bollinger. "He is currently filming 'T3: Rise of the Machines,' one of the most anticipated movie sequels; has plans to shoot the highly anticipated 'True Lies 2' with (writer-director) Jim Cameron later this year; and has a 'Conan' sequel as well as the remake of the classic sci-fi thriller 'Westworld' slated to follow."

Publicists previously announced that "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" producers Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Gary Goetzman will receive the Motion Picture Showmanship Award. The Television Showmanship Award will go to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

HONORS FOR MARTIN SCORSESE, ANGELICA HUSTON

Harvard's Hasty Pudding Theatricals has announced that Martin Scorsese and Anjelica Huston will receive the group's 2003 Man and Woman of the Year awards.

Huston -- the Oscar-winning star of "Prizzi's Honor," "The Grifters" and "The Addams Family" -- will receive her award on Feb. 6, when she will lead a parade through the streets of Cambridge, Mass. Scorsese -- the Oscar-nominated director of "Raging Bull," "GoodFellas" and the current box-office hit "Gangs of New York" -- will receive his award on Feb. 13.

The Hasty Pudding man and woman of the year awards are presented each year to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment." Previous winners include Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Jodie Foster, Julia Roberts, Steven Spielberg and Meryl Streep.

HONORS FOR DIANE LANE, CHRISTOPHER WALKEN

Producers of ShoWest 2003 have announced that Diane Lane and Christopher Walken will be honored at the upcoming the entertainment industry expo in March.

Lane -- who was nominated Tuesday for a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance as an adulterous wide in "Unfaithful" -- has been named female star of the year. Lane's film resume also includes "The Perfect Storm" (2000), "The Cotton Club" (1984) and "The Outsiders" (1983).

Walken -- who was nominated Tuesday for a SAG Award for his performance as an unprincipled husband and businessman in "Catch Me if You Can" -- has been named supporting actor of the year. Walken won the supporting actor Oscar in 1978 for "The Deer Hunter." His resume also includes "Annie Hall" (1977) and "Pulp Fiction" (1994).

ROB LOWE'S NEXT

Rob Lowe, who left NBC's "The West Wing" in a dispute about money, reportedly is close to a potentially lucrative deal with the network for a new drama series.

According to Daily Variety, Lowe would produce and star in "Lyon's Den," as an idealistic lawyer trying to find his place in the world while struggling to escape the shadow of his politically powerful father.

VETERAN ACTOR ROBERT ROCKWELL DIES

Robert Rockwell, who played Philip Boynton, the shy teacher on Eve Arden's 1950's TV comedy "Our Miss Brooks," died on Saturday of cancer. He was 82.

In a career that spanned more than 50 years, Rockwell appeared on more than 350 TV shows, including the prime time series "Growing Pains" and "Diff'rent Strokes" and daytime dramas including "Search for Tomorrow" and "Days of our Lives." He starred in the Western "The Man From Blackhawk" (1959-60) as an insurance investigator fighting crime in the Old West.

He guest-starred on such classic TV series as "The Lone Ranger," "The Loretta Young Show," "Perry Mason," "Lassie," "Newhart" and "Beverly Hills 90210."

Contemporary TV viewers might have known him best as the grandfather in an arm chair offering his grandson a piece of candy in a commercial for Werthers Original Candy.
