The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says a Connecticut-based company is cooperating in the recall of speakers. The firm, which makes audio products, says a series of heavy-duty speakers is on a national recall list because they can malfunction and pose a shock hazard to consumers.

The Madrigal Audio Laboratories of Middletown, Conn., is recalling about 1,300 speakers in the "subwoofer" category.

The model involved is the Revel B-15 subwoofer. The cabinets are either black or gray. The units are cubical, about 20 inches on each side.

The speakers were sold nationally and in Puerto Rico during the past year in the $3,000 range. Consumer are asked not to touch the rear panels of the speakers or anything connected to them and to remove the power from the speaker.

ELECTRIC FANS HAVE UNDERSIZED WIRING

Brooklyn Imports & Exports of New York says it's recalling more than 22,000 electric fans.

According to the CPSC, the fans are being recalled because they were constructed with undersized wiring.

The fans, imported from China, were sold nationally during most of this year and were priced in the $10 to $15 range. The model numbers being recalled are V1186,V1865 and V1783.

The fans have the word "Lollipop" on the blade cover and have an additional label reading: "Hi Velocity Lollipop Air Circular." They are three-speed, four-position models and can be floor- or table top-mounted.
