Winona Ryder drug charge to be dropped

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office asked the judge in the shoplifting and drug possession case against actress Winona Ryder Wednesday to drop the felony drug charge. Prosecutors said Ryder's lawyers had provided information that she was not illegally possessing drugs when she was arrested in December 2001.
