Will Smith's lawyers have asked a Los Angeles court for a restraining order against an ex-employee he accuses of stalking and harassing him and his family.

Smith and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, seek to keep Mike Cooley away from their family, home, workplace, and their kids' school and day-care facility.

The 66-year-old Cooley and his wife worked for the Smiths for several years -- he as a caretaker and she as a nanny -- until they were fired for unspecified reasons last year.

The Smiths' complaint said Cooley was angered by his dismissal and threatened to take embarrassing information to the tabloids about the family unless the Smiths paid them a large sum of money.

When the threats didn't work, the complaint said, Cooley turned to "stalking and harassing (the family) into paying (him) money."

Sheen will now make $300,000 an episode for playing the prez in the Emmy-winning series, compared to Bush's annual salary of $400,000.

While series producer Warner Bros. Television confirmed that Sheen had secured a new deal, no details were released, although E-Online reported that a source said the Post figures were a bit exaggerated.
