CPSC SUBSCRIPTION LIST

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says it's now offering five different free e-mail subscription lists, so consumers have more choices in the types of messages they can receive. The five lists are:

-- All CPSC news releases and the CPSC Public Calendar

-- All CPSC news releases

-- Only CPSC news releases involving product recalls

-- Only CPSC news releases involving product recalls that present a risk to children

-- CPSC Public Calendar

Previously, the Public Calendar and all CPSC news releases -- including announcement of product recalls, civil penalties and agency news -- were sent automatically via e-mail to consumers who signed up for the service. Now, consumers can select exactly the type of information they wish to receive.

CPSC officials say the new service is faster and easier to sign up for.

To subscribe to this service go to cpsc.gov/about/subscribe.html. For information about product recalls and other CPSC safety information, call the CPSC's Toll-Free Hotline at (800) 638-2772 or visit its Web site at cpsc.gov.
