DIXIE CHICKS GUINNESS RECORD

Country group the Dixie Chicks have made it into the 2002 Guinness Book of World Records by selling 11 million copies of their debut album, "Wide Open Spaces." Lead singer Natalie Maines said, "When I read all the outrageous things people have done to make it into the book, I feel guilty that we did it by selling records. No one else had 11 million people help them like we did."


CLAY WALKER GOLFS IN SCOTLAND

Country artist Clay Walker will travel to Scotland this week to participate in the $5 million pro-am Dunhill Links Championship. Walker teams up with professional golfer Steve Elkington, a friend and frequent golf partner. Others taking part in the tournament include Michael Douglas, Kurt Russell, Samuel Jackson and Kyle MacLachlan.

FROM SOUL TO STAGE

Opry member Patty Loveless will perform on the Mountain Stage radio show to air this Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. The show originates on West Virginia Public Radio in Charleston and airs on over 130 stations in the United States plus Ireland and the Voice of America Radio.

Patty's current CD, "Mountain Soul," is dedicated to her mother, Naomie Bowling Ramey and father, John Ramey 1921-1979.


DAVID BALL RIDING HIGH

David Ball is riding high on his current single titled "Riding with Private Malone." The song hit the nation's country music video channels last week and features co-writer, Thom Shepheard as Private Malone. David will appear on the Honky Tonk Tailgate Tour with Daryle Singletary and Rhett Akins in Nov..
