Though the concert is sold out, fans can experience the concert online at Ryman.com or WSMonline.com for a fee of $5. Jones will also take part in the Country Freedom Concert the same evening from the Gaylord Entertainment Center. VINCE GILL NEWS Vince Gill will receive the Wall of Fame Award from the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation on Oct. 25. Oct. 30 finds Vince taping an episode of "Live from the Bluebird" for Turner South TV. The event is sold out and will feature fellow songwriters Bob DiPiero and Al Anderson. Vince will grace the cover of Vintage Guitar's 15th Anniversary issue in Nov. Vince teams up with Trisha Yearwood, Earl Scruggs and his band and Nickel Creek in a concert to air live on BBC Radio 2 on Nov. 3. Fans can tune in at bbc.co.uk/radio2 at 3 p.m. CST. Advertisement Vince hosts the T.J. Martell Golf Tournament at Governors Club in Nashville, Tenn, on Nov. 5. On Nov. 7, Vince will host the 35th annual CMA Awards live from the Grand Ole Opry House. The show will broadcast live on CBS at 8 p.m. RADIO MUSIC AWARDS Opry members Travis Tritt and Diamond Rio are up for Song of the Year at the 2001 Radio Music Awards to be held on Oct. 26 from the Aladdin in Las Vegas. Tritt's "It's A Great Day To Be Alive" and Diamond Rio's "One More Day" join other nominees in the category, including Brooks & Dunn's "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You," Jessica Andrews' "Who I Am" and Tim McGraw's "My Next Thirty Years." McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, Opry member Alan Jackson, the Dixie Chicks and George Strait are nominated for Country Artist of the Year. Opry member Martina McBride will perform on the show and Rascal Flatts will present an award. The show will be telecast on ABC at 8 p.m. RODEO CHICKS The Dixie Chicks will open the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo from the Astrodome on Feb. 12, 2002. Bandmember Emily Robison said, "As Texas gals, you hear about the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo all your life. It's the pinnacle of all rodeos and one of the greatest audiences a Texas musician will ever have. To have a chance to perform the opening concert at the rodeo's last year in the Houston Astrodome is a historical and meaningful event for the Dixie Chicks." Advertisement The Chicks and George Strait will perform during the rodeo and concert series Feb. 12 -- March 3, run. Strait's closing concert is sold out and tickets for the Dixie Chicks go on sale at 2 p.m. on Oct. 21. A CARTER CHRISTMAS Deana Carter will release her first CD in three years titled "Father Christmas" on Nov. 20. The CD, on Deana's own Deanatone Records and in partnership with Rounder Records, will be Carter's third album. Deana's first two albums on Capitol Nashville produced the hit single "Strawberry Wine." MUSIC CITY TRIVIA: Q.
