Baby Gorilla Born at Lincoln Park Zoo Determined to be Female
Patty, an endangered western lowland gorilla, is cradled by her mother Bana at the Lincoln Park Zoo on November 13, 2012 in Chicago. Patty was born in October, but guarded so closely by her mother that it took a month before the zoo's animal care staff to determine with certainty the infant was a female, announcing the results Tuesday.
