Snow Leopard Cub Debuts at Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, Illinois
A three-month old snow leopard cub makes his public debut at Brookfield Zoo, located just outside of Chicago, in Brookfield, Illinois on September 18, 2013. The cubs mother Sarani and mate Sabu, both 3 years old, were paired together based on a recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan. The Snow Leopard Trust, a leading snow leopard conservation organization, estimates that between 3,500 and 7,000 of this endangered cat live in the wild. UPI/Brian Kersey
