China's National Peoples's Congress opens in Beijing

China's top leaders and delegates attend the opening of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's annual parliament session, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on March 5, 2014. China announced a growth target of 7.5 percent and revealed plans to raise its defense budget by 12.2 percent.
