USA UN AMBASSADOR JOHN NEGROPONTE NAMED AMBASSADOR TO IRAQ
The White House announced on April 19, 2004 that John Negroponte, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, has been appointed Ambassador to Iraq to replace Paul Bremer before the June 30 hand over of sovereignty to the Iraqis. (UPI/Ezio Petersen)
