World's first Gene Therapy operation for Parkinson's disease
NYP2003082004 - NEW YORK, AUG. 20 (UPI) Dr. Michael Kaplitt, Director of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at New York Presbyterian hospital looks on Aug. 20, 2003 as 55 year old Nathan Klein (right) the world's first patient to have a gene therapy operation for Parkinson's disease at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center meets the media 48 hours after the historic operation.The surgical team was lead by Dr. Kaplitt.
