JOHN GLENN DURING MERCURY-ATLAS 6 PRE-FLIGHT TRAINING

Astronaut John Glenn, wearing a Mercury pressure suit, was the pilot of the Mercury-Atlas 6 (MA-6) mission. Glenn made America's first manned Earth-orbital space flight on February 20, 1962. This photograph was taken at Cape Canaveral, Florida, during MA-6 preflight training activites.
