MAN IS CHARGED IN TROOPERS DEATH

Lance Shockley is brought into the Carter County Courthouse in Van Buren, Mo as Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers stand guard, on March 23, 2005. Shockley was charged with first degree murder on March 29 for the shooting death of Sgt. Carl D. Graham of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Sources say Graham was the lead investigator in a case involving Shockley who left the scene of an accident where someone was killed.
