MEMORIAL DAY

MEMORIAL DAY

Michael Weidhass stands to pay his respects at the grave of Michael Blassie, an Air Force pilot that was shot down in Vietnam in 1972, during a Memorial Day service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis on May 30, 2005. Weidhass graduated from Saint Louis University High School with Blassie in 1966 and was unaware until recently that classmate Blassie was buried in this cemetery. Blassie's remains were exhumed from the Tomb of the Unknown Soilder and transfered to Jefferson Barracks in 1998 after positive DNA testing. (UPI Photo/Bill Greenblatt)
