Oil Containment Chamber Lowered to the bottom of the Gulf
The mobile offshore drilling unit lowers a pollution containment chamber to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana to hopefully contain a oil leak some 5,000 feet below the surface on May 6, 2010. The chamber was designed to cap the oil discharge that was a result of the BP Deepwater Horizon explosion on April 20, 2010. UPI/Patrick Kelley/U.S. Coast Guard
