President Obama Awards the Medal of Honor to Kyle J. White in Washington, D.C.

President Barack Obama awards former Army Sergeant Kyle J. White with the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry while serving Afghanistan, during a ceremony in the East Room at the White House in Washington, D.C. on May 13, 2014. Sergeant White saved a fellow soldier's life and helped secure the evacuation of several other wounded Americans while under persistent fire during a 2007 ambush in Afghanistan. Sergeant White is the seventh living recipient to be awarded the Medal of Honor for actions in Iraq or Afghanistan. UPI/Kevin Dietsch
