Obama says military depends on strong economy at Camp Pendleton in California
Speaking to a crowd of nearly 3,000 U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in Southern California, President Obama said advocates of a strong U.S. military in Congress were defeating their own purpose by refusing to budge on sequestration. Obama told the Marines that by refusing to reverse the sequester cuts, Congress is failing to live up to the Corps’ motto — Semper Fidelis. “After all you’ve given to our nation, you have to know your nation will always be faithful to you,” Obama said at Camp Pendleton, California on August 7, 2013.
