Avalanche victims head for safety in Afghanistan
Victims of massive avalanches that occurred on February 8, 2010 in the mountains of Salang Pass, Afghanistan, head for safety on February 9, 2010, as an Afghan National Army Soldier provides assistance. More than 2,000 Afghans were rescued and rescue efforts were scheduled to continue through February 11. Salang Pass links the Afghan Capital city of Kabul with the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
