Delta IV launches NASA's Orion spacecraft on maiden mission.

A United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy launches NASA's Orion Spacecraft at 7:05 AM on its "Exploration Flight Test" from Launch Complex 37 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida on December 5, 2014. In the foreground are the remains of the historic launch pedestal of Complex 34 where Apollo 1 and 7 once stood. The unmanned mission will test the systems on NASA's newest spacecraft during a four and a half hour, two orbit flight.
