M&M's to add new color

WAX2002012901 - 29 JANUARY 2002 - HACKETTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY, USA: Masterfoods USA, the maker of M&M's multicolored chocolate candies, has announced on Jan. 29, 2002, it will add either purple, pink or aqua M&M's to their collection by August of this year. The company has conducted research, finding that these three colors are consumers' top choices. Consumers will be able to vote on the new color on the Masterfoods web site and by phone. The new color will be announced on June 19. The last time M&M's added a color was in 1995 when blue was added to take the place of tan. rlw/bg/Handout UPI
