NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson is seen on January 6, 2017, taking part in a spacewalk during Expedition 50 aboard the International Space Station. On Monday, April 24, 2017, astronaut Peggy Whitson broke the 534-day record set by Jeff Williams for the total time spent in space by an American.
