Mitt Romney introduced U.S. Rep Paul Ryan, R-Wis., as his running mate for the GOP ticket in the 2012 presidential election in front of the decommissioned warship USS Wisconsin on August 11, 2012. The decision to add Ryan shook up an exceedingly nasty, petty race, turning it toward policy.
