A 9-week-old fossa watches curiously as visitors to the San Diego Zoo on September 9, 2004, check out the fossa family that has made its public debut only this week. This is the first time in 10 years that this species from the civet family has been born at the Zoo. The dam (mother) and her three pups explored their surroundings and have immediately become expert tree and rock climbers, with only a few minor tumbles.
