Tai Shan, born at The National Zoo in 2005, is leaving for China today, February 4th, as part of the agreement between the United States and China. There are 14 pandas on loan from China in U.S. zoos.

Tai Shan, a 4 year old male giant panda, is moved into a FedEx Express 777 Freighter airplane at Dulles Airport in Dulles, Virginia on February 4, 2010. Tai Shan and another 3 year old female panda, Mei Lan, from the Atlanta Zoo, will be transported on the "FedEx Panda Express" to Chengdu, China to join the country's breeding and conservation program.
