NASA's space shuttle "Endeavour" departs the Kennedy Space Center, Florida for the final time on September 19, 2012. Endeavour is enroute on a two day trek to Los Angeles where it will be placed on public display at the California Science Center. The orbiter, mated to the 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, will make flybys of NASA centers along the Gulf Coast. It will then fly low over Houston, Texas before landing at Ellington Air Force Base for the public to view the orbiter before departing for the west coast. .UPI/Joe Marino-Bill Cantrell

As a final salute to the workers at the Spaceport, NASA's space shuttle "Endeavour", and the 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft conduct a fly by at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida on September 19, 2012. Endeavour and the 747 are flying into retirement, making a cross country trek to the nation's West coast where the orbiter will be placed on public display at her new home, the California Science Center in Los Angeles. .UPI/Joe Marino-Bill Cantrell
