Natural disasters of 2011 (36 images)

It looks like the series of natural disasters over the course of 2011 so far, ranging from the catastrophic earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan to the rampant tornado damage across the Midwest U.S., will continue as Hurricane Irene creeps toward the East Coast.
