SAN DIEGO ZOO FLAMINGO CHICKS ON DISPLAY

SAN DIEGO ZOO FLAMINGO CHICKS ON DISPLAY
Mom takes care of her young flamingo chick, one of nine that are on display at the San Diego Zoo in San Diego on June 27, 2006. With several more eggs on the conical nests, zookeepers are hoping more of the downy gray chicks will soon join the flock. The earliest hatching was May 28 and the latest on June 23. Both male and female flamingos sit on the nests and raise and feed the young birds. (UPI Photo/Ken Bohn/San Diego Zoo)
