Colin Firth receives star on Walk of Fame (11 images)

British actor Colin Firth has been honored with a star on Hollywood's iconic Walk of Fame, organizers said.

The 2,429th star was unveiled in front of the Pig n' Whistle British Pub and presented to Firth Thursday.

The 50-year-old actor is generating Oscar buzz for his work in the film "The King's Speech." His other big-screen credits include "A Single Man," "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "Love Actually," "Shakespeare in Love," "The English Patient," "Nanny McPhee," "My Life So Far," "Fever Pitch," "Circle of Friends" and "Valmont."

Firth's breakout role came in 1995 when he played romantic hero Mr. Darcy in the BBC adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice."
