July 1st would be the 50th birthday of the late princess of Wales, Diana Spencer. Here's a look back at Diana's life in the spotlight, courtesy of the UPI Archives.
Lady Diana Spencer, age 19, who is being wildly reported in some Fleet Street papers to marry Prince Charles, leaves her home on November 12, 1980. Reports are that the announcement will be made Friday 11/14, when Charles celebrates his 32nd birthday. The heir to the throne has been auditioning future queens for 12 years.
