Jean Pierre "JP" Orlewicz, 18, of Plymouth Township, Mich., was given a mandatory life prison sentence without the possibility of parole after he was found guilty April, 16, of premeditating the murder of Daniel Sorensen, 26, The Detroit News reported.
Wayne County Circuit Judge Annette J. Berry tacked another 4-10 years onto Orlewicz's sentence for mutilating a corpse.
Orlewicz's partner in the crime, Alexander Letkemann, 18, is serving a 20-30 year jail sentence for his involvement in the Nov. 7, 2007, killing.
Two days after Sorensen's body was discovered Nov. 8, in Northville Township, Mich., his head was found in a park in nearby Dearborn Heights, the News reported.
Orlewicz was found guilty of first-degree murder after he said he cut off Sorensen's head with a hacksaw, unloaded the body and set it on fire.
