Kosovo Serbs prepare to form parliament

Published: May 7, 2008 at 10:29 PM
PRISTINA, Kosovo, May 7 (UPI) -- Serbs in Kosovo are preparing to create a parliament of their own after elections take place May 11, Serb leader Marko Jaksic said.

"The Kosovo Serbs need a representative body in order to exercise their legal and legitimate rights. This is of the utmost importance given the Kosovo Ministry's plan for the functional division of the Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo," Jaksic said.

Jaksic said it is the "only way for the Serbs to be able to survive in Kosovo," B92 reported.

He also said Kosovo's parliament is made up of "puppets" from the west who do not intend to keep the concerns of Serbs in the forefront.
