HARRISBURG, Pa., April 26 (UPI) -- Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton had overwhelming support among Catholics and Jewish voters in Pennsylvania's primary Tuesday, exit polls show.

But Protestants and the most active religious voters were split along racial lines between Clinton, the senator from New York, and rival Barack Obama, the senator from Illinois, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

Among white Catholics, Clinton had a 44 percentage point margin over Obama.

But among Protestants and other Christians, Obama had a 6 percentage advantage. The newspaper said black Protestants went supported Obama, 93 percent to 7 percent, while white Protestants voted for Clinton, 59 to 41.

The National Election Pool's Pennsylvania exit poll is based on interviews with 2,217 Democratic primary voters conducted at 40 polling places and has an error of margin of 4 percentage points.
